Describe the craftsmanship of your painting. (Is it neat and well executed?)
Overall, I think my painting is well executed based on the placement and the composition of where the tree is and the lollipop trees. I also think the designs were pretty strong in the tree and on the house and bushes. I feel like it's not as neat as it could've been and if you look closely some of the lines are sloppy like some of the rays for the sun in the background or the lines on the hills. How does your work embody the artist’s style? I made sure to use analogous colors throughout and used swirls and raindrops like the hundertwasser paintings that I have seen in the past. I feel like it gives off the feel of one of his paintings with the type of abstract it is. |

Overall this semester, I feel as though I was really able to grow with painting. I remember at the beginning of the semester when I would try to paint for fun, but ended up trying to start and not knowing how to use a brush to blend or create shadows. Now that I look back at pieces I tried to do before painting, I laugh at myself because you could tell I was just throwing paint around and had no idea what I was doing. As a drawer, I decided to take painting as a challenge for me to get better at the part of art that is definitely not my strong suit. Overall, I feel like I did pretty well this semester and was able to definitely improve since I started. The thing I struggled with the most in my pieces was neatness. I get frustrated very easily with my paintings and tend to want to give up, so when i'm painting while frustrated, my paintings tend to lack with neat brush strokes and blends. I was able to learn to keep focused and pace myself with my paintings and take breaks when I get frustrated with my work. You can definitely tell based on my glass painting.
